About the challenge
Hack The Runway is a beginner-friendly hackathon for High School students hoping to promote the use of technology to promote sustainability within the fashion industry.
What is Fast Fashion
The fashion industry has become the second largest polluting industry worldwide. With the increasing popularity of fast fashion, a business practice categorized by overproduction of garments, cheap retail prices, labor sourced from sweatshops, and excessive waste and dye runoff, fashion brands irresponsibly profit off of a business model designed with zero regard for the environment or the communities affected by sweatshop labor.

What to Build
For this Hackathon you can build anything! As long as your submission falls under the theme of sustainability in the fashion industry and can be submitted digitally, it can be entered! Be creative and think big :)

Alignment with theme
This hackathon is open ended and all forms of submissions are accepted, however, winning submissions MUST align with the theme properly. Please asses how well each submission incorporates technology in the fashion industry to make it more sustainable.
